CISS Services
Channel Islands Social Services specializes in providing Lifespan Respite Care.
Defined as an interval of relief, respite services offer in-home, temporary relief of personal care duties and
companionship from a caring, reliable person.

Often, care is also provided in the community to attend recreational and social events. Some children
need additional support and supervision to attend integrated summer camps and after school daycare
events, which can be arranged on an individual basis.

CISS provides care in Ventura and No.LA Counties of California to individuals with developmental
disabilities who are living at home with their parents or primary caregivers. 80% of the individuals we help
are under age 18.

Although CISS does accept private pay, every effort is made to find an alternative funding source. Most
reimbursement comes from local regional centers in our area, which are responsible for funding
necessary services, according to the Lanterman Act:

                 ENHANCED RESPITE IS HERE!
Awarded the 2008 RFP by TCRC, the Enhanced Respite Program was developed to meet the local needs
of families who have children experiencing challenging behaviors by providing in-home care from better
